New Studio!

Heads up, guys! I'll be in a new studio, soon! I'm SO excited.

The new studio (in the Finesilver building, downtown San Antonio), has a wall of windows that lets in bukooz of natural light. I can't wait to soak up all that ambiance with my camera!

My first studio had amazing windows, and I've always really missed them. Here are a couple of my favorite photos from that studio. It will be so lovely to create images like these, again.

Model: Nicole Winfield
Model: Brandi Seguin

I'll be in the new studio May 1st, and if you book quick enough, you could be the FIRST model to shoot with me there. Soft window light is perfect for boudoir shoots, or softer beauty shoots. It can also be great for very natural headshots or portraits.

Model: Rossi Saenz

If this type of light quality is not what you are looking for, don't worry. I'll still have my flash units and backdrops available in studio and/or on location, day or night. Let's do it!

Message me at stretchphotos@gmail.com for rates and dates, or check them out on my website and email me via the contact form. There will be changes made, soon, so book at the current rate, while you can! :D

Where Have I Been?

Some of you may know that I was recently diagnosed with Fructose Malabsorption Disorder. I have been having quite a tough time dealing with this, which explains my (longer than usual) absence. I have started a blog called "Sneaky Fructose" that will document my journey, as I learn to live with this. If you are interested, please check it out! There are only a handful of posts so far, but I do hope to bulk it up quickly. I doubt it will be too hard, as figuring out this disorder seems to be consuming all of my time and energy right now.

I hope to be feeling much better soon, working more, and posting LOTS of work here.

At any rate, since this IS my photo blog, here are some photos for you to enjoy!

I don't "shoot" kids often (that sounds terrible, doesn't it??). Some of my most recent shoots, however, were of children!

First, my stepson, in all his football glory! This is his first year, and he couldn't be more excited.

These cuties below are local San Antonio blogger, Christina Coker's, "mini's," as she likes to call them. Poor things had quite a big morning, and feel asleep in Christina's car on the way to the shoot. Oh, no! Luckily, I'm sneaky, and managed to get a few great shots, in spite of the waking-up-blues. :D

This handsome young thing is Isaiah. He is an aspiring actor/dancer here in San Antonio. He's got some great moves! He was a little bit shy, but excited to announce that he is going to be on T.V. soon. How cool is that?

I have always loved Victor Koos' editing style, so I asked him to remix one of my photographs. I absolutely love what is going on with Brandi's hair! Thanks, Vic!

Below are two of his own amazing photos! Check out more on his website. :D

And here are a few more from my set with Brandi.

Heather and Stephen's Reception

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding reception for my friends, Heather and Stephen. They turned their home into a lovely vintagesque garden for the celebration of their betrothal. Black and white photographs, sentimental posters, smoky lanterns, sparkling chandeliers, and books from another era were just some of the personalized touches they included as part of their home-turned-reception-hall. Tapa Tapa catered the event (YUM!!!), and their pink truck fit in perfectly with the yellows and oranges in the flower arrangements.

Friends and family gathered to toast the couple, and give them their blessings.

Although this reception was more difficult than any reception I have shot, as it was mostly mingling (people talking), and very very dark after dusk... I had a blast challenging myself to capture the ambiance of the event. As we settled into the moonlit night, I switched to my 50mm and let the minimal amount of light create more artistic low-key images, with silhouettes and soft lighting- in keeping with that vintage vibe.

Congratulations, Heather and Stephen! I wish you all the happiness a couple can handle!

Also, here's a shout out to Abby Hamessley, and her husband and team, who organized this event. She is an exceptional planner, with attention to detail, and a welcoming personality. You can contact her at abby@abbyhamessley.com.

DJ Own

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile! I've been trying to take care of my health, and I haven't been shooting much. The footage compiled in this video was all taken right before Christmas. I had a BLAST shaking my booty around while shooting.

Enjoy DJ Own, everyone!

If you get a chance, check him out on facebook, twitter, or his website, where you can contact him for bookings, mix tapes, etc. You can also go see him LIVE at Blu on Thursdays, Red Square Bar on Fridays, and Mad Dogs British Pub on the riverwalk every Saturday.

If you like old school hip hop, DJ Own is your DJ- but if you like to keep it fresh, don't worry! He spins current hip-hop, and dance music, too. If the video below doesn't prove you'll have a good time- you can take my word on it, instead. ;D

Be sure to click the youtube button on this video, and watch at the highest resolution, for the best viewing experience!

Stone Cold Beauty

I feel like it's been awhile since my last blog post.... sorry about that, everyone! The holidays have got me rather busy.

I wanted to share one of my most recent unpublished shoots, along with the behind the scenes video. This is the first time anyone has seen these photos! Last month I teamed up with Monica Estrada Saldana (makeup), David Andrew Aguillon (hairstylist), and jewelry designers Helena and Joey Cruz, of Cruz Jewelry Designs, to make some beautiful beauty images with model Hannah Ghore.

Everyone impressed me so much on this shoot. Monica and David always do a beautiful job on hair and makeup, so no surprise there! Although I've always enjoyed shooting Hannah, this shoot gave her the opportunity to try something different (other than alternative, which is what she is best known for), and she really brought her best to the shoot! The pieces by Cruz Jewelry Designs jewelry finally got to take a front seat- and the images really show off just how talented Helena and Joey are- not only within the craft of jewelry making, but in styling shoots, as well.

If you're looking for something cool to do this weekend, Cruz Jewelry Designs will be vending at the Boerne Market Days this weekend. It is located at the gazebo on the main square- very visible, and easy to find. The address is 100 N. Main Boerne, TX 78006. Hours are 10am to 7pm on Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Go say hello to them, and check out their work up close and personal! There are many other cool vendors as well, and great food! You can also check out their online Etsy store, or contact them at cruzdesigns@live.com. Don't forget to "like" their facebook page, CruzJewelryDesigns (Helena and Joe), too!

You can check out more of Monica's work, and contact her at Misfit Makeup Artist on facebook. David can be reached at Davidandrewcervantes@Gmail.com. To book Hannah, contact her on her facebook page, where you can see both her modeling work, and her art and designs!
